Actual and potential effects of introduced marine organisms in Norwegian waters, including Svalbard.

This version of “Distribution of marine, benthic macro-organisms in Norway”, is a revised edition of “Utredning for DN 1997-1”.

This document presents the outcome of a review of existing information on the effects on the marine environment of the OSPAR maritime area of acidification resulting from elevated levels of anthropogenic CO2 in the atmosphere, including identification of gaps that need to be filled.

The overall mandate of the study was to assess how and to what extent marketing applications for GMOs fulfil the criteria of sustainable development and societal utility in the Norwegian Gene Technology Act.

The Nature Index (NI) was established to provide an overview of the state and development of biodiversity in the major ecosystems in Norway, the marine, limnic (freshwater) and terrestrial ecosystems, and thereby measure progress towards the goal of halting the loss of biodiversity.
